Youth Groups

We run three youth groups to meet the needs of young people aged 8-16 years old. 

All groups have a varying degrees of challenges through activities such as;

  1. Cooking and food tasting in the form of dietary education
  2. Physical education with lessons and practical work involving muscles, the body and movement.
  3. Creative arts and crafts using a variety of materials.
  4. Mainstream sports such as football, basketball, frisbee-golf, bowls, rounders, table tennis, human table football, crazy golf and more.
  5. Recreational (traditional games) such as board games, escape rooms, hopscotch, face painting and mini carnivals.
  6. Issue-based activities including youth voice activities such visual aids, artistic projects, drama presentations, debate sessions, public speaking and other activities.
  7. Online activities such as videos, gaming and films.
  8. Photography and stop motion pictures.
  9. Outdoor education trips within Snowdonia National Park.
  10. Bush craft sessions and education.

The activities will be balanced between indoor and outdoor tasks; art and sports; issues and discussions; competitive and non-competitive and fun and tranquillity.

Little 1's

Age 8-11 years old
Wednesday, 3.30-5.30pm

Youth members will be able to enjoy time away from home, engage in a wide variety of well-run, safe and character-building activities. Activities will include creative arts; sports; recreational games, team building, education and online resources with the overall goal of improving young people's wellbeing. Sessions will be open for term-time after-school activities and offer special events and off-site educational activities during school holidays.  

Big 1's

Age 12-16 years old
Thursday, 4-6pm

In addition to wellbeing support and structured social development, this youth groups helps to prevent unhealthy behaviours, such as drinking, smoking and involvement in crime. 1 Compass will deliver issue-based activities to tackle the barriers that youth members face. As well as a more mature approach to activities

 

Quiet 1's

Age 8-16 years old
Tuesday, 4-6pm

This session is an invitation only session for young people who struggle in louder crowds. The benefit from this support is that we can nurture their development in an environment/pace that suits them. The aim would be to progress them into a mainstream group (Little 1’s or Big 1’s).
